Formal construction might arise from the immanence of the parts, rather than a transcendental whole. This presents an aesthetic or architecture that has much more in common with bioconstructions, such as the famed radiolarians of Ernst Haeckel, rather than a rigid top-down industrial engineering. This approach privilegies an organic openness and difference derived from the analogic application of elements. (1: Detlef Mertins, Modernity Unbound)
